The RainReserve^TM Diverter Kit may be purchased separately should you wish to provide your own barrel. To take advantage of the RainReserve^TM Diverter's built-in overflow capabilities, your barrel MUST have a completely closed and sealed top.

More Diverter Kit information
We recommend using only food-grade barrels with sealed tops that include two tight-fitting bung caps. Installation instructions provided with the kit include steps to drill a hole in the top of the barrel using the provided hole saw and attach an adaptor, also provided in the kit. The diverter hose is then attached to this adaptor and to the diverter itself in order to feed water to the barrel, and to provide the overflow capability back to the diverter and down the downspout. A second hole, again drilled with the hole saw provided will be used to insert the ball valve spigot assembly included in the kit.

Please Note
ALL Sustain Dane rain barrels and rain barrel kits fit a "standard" rectangular 2" x 3" downspout (3" round downspouts will work as well, with slight modifications). 3" x 4" downspouts can be accommodated as well, through the usage of a downspout 'reducer'. Prior to placing your order, please measure your downspout size and select the appropriate RainReserve system.

We recommend calling your preferred retailer in advance to see if they stock oak or simulated wood grain barrels compatable with the RainReserve diverter.
